Women Empowerment
Women empowerment is a powerful movement aimed at promoting gender equality and creating an environment where women can exercise their rights, realize their potential, and actively participate in all spheres of life. It is about breaking down societal barriers, challenging stereotypes, and advocating for women’s rights to ensure they have equal access to opportunities and resources.

Women empowerment is not a standalone effort; it requires collaborative efforts from governments, civil society organizations, private sectors, and individuals. Together, we can build a society where women are treated with respect, dignity, and equality, enabling them to thrive and contribute to a more just and equitable world.
What We Do
JI JI Visha’s women empowerment programme, “EmpowerHER,” was launched in 2023 with a strong commitment to reaching out to marginalized and socially-excluded women. Through innovative community interventions, EmpowerHER focuses on addressing the critical areas of nutrition, healthcare, and livelihood for these women.
In addition to its focus on women, EmpowerHER actively promotes gender equality and inclusivity. Recognizing the importance of engaging men and boys in the process of women empowerment, the programme actively works towards creating a gender equal society. By fostering understanding and support among all members of the community, EmpowerHER aims to break down traditional gender norms and build a more inclusive and progressive society.

Importance of Women Empowerment
Women empowerment refers to the process of providing women with the resources, opportunities, and abilities to participate fully in all spheres of life, allowing them to make choices and decisions that affect their lives positively. It is about creating an environment where women can exercise their rights, voice their opinions, and achieve social, economic, and political equality.

Women empowerment is built on the principle of gender equality, which entails treating women and men with equal dignity, rights, and opportunities. It seeks to eliminate discrimination and bias based on gender.
Empowerment emphasizes economic independence for women, promoting access to job opportunities, fair wages, and entrepreneurship support. Economic empowerment enables women to have control over their financial resources and future.
Women empowerment recognizes the significance of women’s health and well-being. It advocates for access to quality healthcare services, reproductive rights, and awareness about health-related issues.
Education is a key principle of empowerment, as it equips women with knowledge, skills, and confidence to navigate life’s challenges, make informed decisions, and pursue their aspirations.
Ensuring women’s safety and security is an integral principle of empowerment. It seeks to address gender-based violence, harassment, and other forms of discrimination that hinder women’s ability to live freely and fearlessly.
